OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Launched In India Starting at $699

Here goes all the rumors and speculations, OnePlus new flagships are here now. OnePlus, today in an online event launched its new phones, OnePlus 8 and PnePlus 8 Pro. As we have seen in the leaks, most of the information was found to be correct. 


Talking about the design part, both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro share the same design elements. This time the displays are curved, powered with Snapdragon 865 with 5G support and one of the most awaited features, an IP rating. Talking about the camera OnePlus has invested heavily in the camera department and we will get audio zoom, 3-HDR video, and a lot more. 

OnePlus 8 Pro: Specifications and Features


The Pro version of OnePlus 8 boasts the massive 6.78-inch 120Hz, QHD+ AMOLED display. The fluid AMOLED display also comes with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The new display panel also supports a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels. Also the highest refresh rate id available at QHD+ resolution which makes it a superior display from Samsung S20 series phones which reduces the resolution when a 120Hz refresh rate is used.

OnePlus 8 Pro: Camera


OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro with minor upgrades. The primary lens is a 48MP (f/1.78) Sony IMX689 sensor. The second one is an ultra-wide-angle 48MP (f/2.2) Sony IMX586 sensor with a 120-degree FOV. The third one is an 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens with 3x hybrid zoom and 30x digital zoom and the fourth one is a color filter camera, as OnePlus says, will enable you to capture filtered photos. 

The camera is paired with a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus. The main and the telephoto lenses come with OIS.

The selfie shooter is a 16 MP, f/2.5, (wide), 1/3", 1.0┬Ám. It features Auto-HDR and supports 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS video recording.

OnePlus 8 Pro: Wireless Charging

Yes, finally OnePlus 8 Pro is equipped with wireless charging features. It also supports reverse charging like Samsung phones. OnePlus 8 Pro has a 4,510 mAh battery that supports both wired and wireless Warp charging. However, the wired remains slightly faster as the battery goes from 0 to 50% in 23 minutes with wired and takes 30 minutes with a wireless charger.

OnePlus 8 Pro: IP68 Rating


Previously OnePlus used to say, your phone can handle splashes but do not take it for a swim. But this rather seems to be false in the case of OnePlus 8 Pro. The phone is officially IP68 certified which can handle submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

Now let's take a look at the little brother of OnePlus 8 Pro.


OnePlus 8: Specifications and Features

Unlike the Pro, OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED panel that supports the 90Hz refresh rate. This also includes a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The new display supports 1080 x 2400 resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR 10+ playback, up to 1100 nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. 

The display is a dual-curved edge with the punch-hole camera setup. The camera is a 16MP selfie shooter. OnePlus 8 will be available in three attractive colorways – Glacier Green, Interstellar Glow, and Onyx Black. 

OnePlus 8: Camera


OnePlus 8 has a triple camera setup which is vertically aligned this time. The camera array includes a primary 48MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX586 sensor with OIS, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a macro camera.

OnePlus 8: Battery

OnePlus 8 packs in a 4,300mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T. 


OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro: Connectivity

Both the flagship devices support Wifi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB Type-C port for charging. It also includes NFC for payments and dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, NavIC and GALILEO for improved location services. No 3.5mm headphone jack but a stereo speaker setup is there.

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro: Price and Availability

OnePlus 8 has been priced at $699 (around Rs. 53,000)  for the 8GB+128GB base variant. The 12GB+256GB high-end variant will cost you $799 (around Rs. 60,500).

OnePlus 8 Pro is priced at $899 (around Rs. 68,250) for 8GB+128GB base variantThe 12GB RAM and 256GB variant will cost you $999 (around Rs. 75,900). 

Both of these devices will go on sale from 29th April in North America. 


OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro: Price and Availability in India

OnePlus 8 price starts from 41,999 and OnePlus 8 Pro price starts from 54,999. OnePlus revealed the information about the prices to its exclusive Red Cable Club members. The OnePlus' new Bullet Wireless Z is priced at 1,999 in India. It will be available in four colors, Black, Blue, Mit and Oat. This time I think OnePlus has kept the price right for the Wireless Bullet earphones as compared to the previous generations.
