Even, Michael Crichton, author of Jurassic Park book had never thought what would term like “NexGen” mean in the upcoming times. Well, we all landed in the 21st century, where such things like common. 
The term when abbreviated results in the next generation. And, here the best thing which suits and fits best with this term is technology. However, when it comes to laptops, one has to wait as a handful of laptops include the new generation of Wi-Fi. But the efforts from the Wi-Fi Alliance is commendable as it will launch its Wi-Fi 6 certification program this fall, which guarantees compatibility across Wi-Fi devices. Devices don’t need to pass that certification, but its launch will signify that the industry is ready for Wi-Fi 6’s arrival.

Difference Between Wifi 5 and Wifi 6

Of course, if it is an upgraded version, 5 is feeble than 6.  Well in terms of speed, Wifi 6 has outclassed its predecessor by 25 - 40%. And with better accommodation, the newer version has higher throughput due to the accomplishment of  Wi-Fi 6 through more efficient data encoding.  The new standard even increases speeds on 2.4GHz networks. While the industry has shifted to 5GHz Wi-Fi for less interference, 2.4GHz is still better at penetrating solid objects. And there shouldn’t be as much interference for 2.4GHz as old cordless telephones and wireless baby monitors are retired.

For Wi-Fi 6 wireless networks to achieve the highest capacity, it’s essential to minimize interference between simultaneous users. For environments with obstructions or interference sources, using different subcarriers per user can be programmed by location to avoid the loss of data due to multipath or fading. When it comes to battery consumption, Wifi6 will show its mettle and determine the market driving force from Wifi5 to Wifi6 along with its unique feature of TWT which helps to optimize the battery consumption even for the IoT devices. Wifi6 is a better choice when it comes to the adoption and adaptation of 5G technology.

Do You Really Need Wifi 6?

For setting up a Wifi 6 network at your home, you need a Wifi 6 router. And, unless you have a crazy internet speed at your home, Wifi 6 is not going to be beneficial at all.
