The autonomous car will certainly be one of the greatest innovations of the 21st century. Having revolutionized the transport sector, this breakthrough is set to have a profound impact on the daily lives of millions of people in a few years.

The emergence of new technologies has already triggered a series of in-depth changes in the transportation sector at several levels, ranging from passenger services to operations and maintenance. This has also given rise to changes in the automobile and road transport sectors. Given the mobile tools and applications on offer, players employing disruptive strategies are already strongly calling existing models into question and, as such, paving the way for the emergence of numerous services.

Vehicles are becoming increasingly autonomous and connected. Many initiatives have been implemented and considerable progress made in the field of connected, automated and autonomous vehicles. Some mediatized examples include but are not limited to, the Google and Tesla self-driving cars.

Automatic technologies are therefore already integrated, even in car control functions. In addition, vehicles are becoming increasingly connected with the outside world, be it with other vehicles, infrastructures or platforms. Technological progress is being made at several levels:
  1. Data: Data storage capacity and multiple information sources (sensors, user information, etc.) exponentially enrich the reservoir of available data, as well as that of geographical and traffic data
  2. Analysis capacity: With processes such as data mining and predictive algorithms, technology is making it possible to go beyond simple data collection thanks to computing power and storage capacity
  3. Automation and AI: In addition to data analysis, robotization can be used to make vehicles act in accordance with the information processed, a trend that is making vehicles increasingly intelligent.
This trend is set to gain momentum thanks to the hybrid nature of these cars in which the driver can still take back control of the vehicle, on the motorway and in traffic jams for example. On the other hand, fully autonomous vehicle usage has already been tested and solutions rolled out, although these are generally limited to specific stretches (short-distance shuttles and low-density roads). The different levels of autonomy, defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), will give rise to several development models.

Self-driving vehicles could rapidly become common sights on road. Such self-driving cars will internally integrate many different inputs to analyze their environments and issues such as road conditions in order to make decisions about where and when to drive. Using learning algorithms, they will build knowledge bases of road conditions and learn to manage unusual and exceptional conditions such as plastic bags blowing across the road, or obstructions in the road.

Ethics to Build Self- Driving Cars:

Autonomous cars may report standard data to central hubs, rather like an aircraft sends out standard data.  Location data will enable it to plan routes and change routes as it is progressing.  These robot cars will be able to manage traffic flow through communication and effectively self-organize traffic systems.  Both vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) may become standard parts of autonomous cars. 

The networked, driverless car could be centrally controlled, delivered to a specific location and then programmed to take a fixed route. It can depend on GPS navigation, it can be part of a transport infrastructure, subject to control signals from the infrastructure. It could be constantly monitored and open to intervention from traffic controllers and police, for example, as well as the driver.

These cars may decide when driving conditions are unsuitable. They will learn to improve at driving; they will bid for insurance in real time. Where two cars are involved in a collision,  active buckling control may activate so that the cars share information in order to determine who take the brunt of the collision, who buckles most based on the size of the car and other factors.  The self-driving car will offer the driver freedom to sit back, or complete work and save time. Driving may become a thing of the past. Commuting may become a chance to hold meetings, finish documents.

Philosophical End:
While many commentators refer to connected cars, some projects are pursuing the development of autonomous self-driving cars which are self-contained and have no dependency on anything external to their own capability. These cars will act without a need to consult controllers or satellite navigation systems, independent of infrastructure, not requiring to communicate with other cars, whether driverless or not. All the information the car uses to drive it has learned for itself. It is an individual, standing alone, driving to its own agenda, neither transmitting information nor needing to receive information. Such a truly autonomous car is a self-contained system, relying on the information it derives from its own sensors and the learning algorithms built into its onboard computer systems. 

Such cars offer the possibility of complete autonomy for the car, which is in effect a robot which can navigate and make its own decisions about when and how to drive as well as how to get to a location. The ambition for autonomous cars is a complete autonomy which does not rely on infrastructure, connection with central systems or even with GPS, an autonomy where the human is eliminated from the loop, an autonomy where the car is self-determining, self-correcting, eventually self-healing and perhaps ultimately self-aware.

This ultimate autonomy may not only prove to be undesirable, but ultimately unachievable. Perhaps born of a philosophy which sees the individual as the paramount object of focus. The truly autonomous car is an enlightened car truly able to think for itself, to employ and rely on its own capabilities to determine what to believe about its environment and how to act.  Technological advances and a reliance on the firm ground of mathematics will release it from its self-incurred immaturity; from its inability to use its own understanding without the guidance of another.

Components Required:

  • Sensors – They will be required in order to read every set of signals from motion to proximity of two objects i.e. an object and the vehicle.
  • Sensor automated Gear and Brake System: Signals from sensors regarding alert should be transmitted without any delay so that proper measurement can be taken automatically.
  • Glass Lens: Sensors data will be sufficient enough to understand the things forward, it should bring the concept of optics and image processing changing from time to time interval to understand the motion on the roads and anything else which are of utmost importance.
  • Systems or Mobility Connectivity: These data from the sensors will need guidance to build its data sets to design the algorithms when to stop and when to start and this should have some mobile connectivity which is connected with the phones using some devices on cloud mode. Therefore it will be remote man-made controls which will design these algorithms with the help of machine learning.
  • Algorithms: This will become the crux of driverless cars in the future which should be highly complex to handle all sorts of situations and make error-free decisions. Time should be given to make algorithms through the data sets they will gain through some man-made controls.

With such a dynamic PM, we have seen various scientific and technological advancements in the recent past to bring the era of digitization more closely. Recently, 106th Indian Science Congress was conducted in the city of Jalandhar, Punjab. The focal theme of this event was Future India: Science & Technology.  If specifically determined it happened in the premise of Lovely Professional University. During this event, some students presented Solar powered self-driving cars. Using solar energy, it will cause motions in these cars. The students embedded some of the algorithms to make it possible to car move and directed accordingly to move to certain directions. However, future implications are running to make it possible to enable these cars on road one day.

Android Q to Offer System Wide-Dark Theme, New Permissions and Dex like Docking support.

Many of us have still not received Andriod Pie on our smartphones but Google is working on the development of Android 10 or Android Q. As reported by XDA developers, they already have Android Q developer build running on a Pixel 3 device.

Having said that there are many chances that Android Q will get a system-wide Dark Mode, DEX like native docking support, and a revamped App Permissions. 


XDA-Developers confirms: "Once enabled, the Settings, Launcher, Launcher settings, and Files app all gain a dark grey tinge. The volume panel, Quick Settings panel, and notifications all turn black. Even third-party notifications like download notifications from Google Chrome are themed black."



As seen, the Dark Mode can be enabled for all the time or based on the time of the day, so that dark mode can be enabled for specific hours only. Maybe during the night only. This will help in reducing the stress on the eyes while using the smartphone during bedtime. 

Talking about the new App Permissions, it is being said that permission will be allowed to apps only when they are in use. For example is a messaging app will be granted camera access only when it is in use. The camera permission will be revoked as soon as the user exits that app.

Reportedly the upcoming Android OS will have a developer option "force desktop mode" which will enable the device to support Samsung Dex like feature. This will allow the user to connect their Android phone to a larger display and the Android OS once connected will switch into desktop mode.


There are likely more features to be added like keeping current wallpaper on Always On Display, enabling native support for screen recording by the long pressing power button. Since the build is in its early stages many features are not working now. It would be worth waiting for this new Android Q OS.  

When will you get Android Q?
As we have seen in previous years, the new OS rolls out in the month of August. Also to note, Pixel and Android One devices will be the first to receive this update later followed by other smartphone manufacturers.

As we know that Google names it Android OS on some sweet dish. It keeps the new operating system name in alphabetical order as we have seen.

What is #10YearChallenge?

Hashtags which were one of the most important characters in one's coding as the comment has found new significance in social media. These hashtags which are used to find the perfect keyword related to events, memes,  post etc. Facebook holds a pivotal role to give new life or precisely oxygen to these hashtags through their social media posts. And it becomes a fashion or trend when these hashtags are blended with some new stop of making it something out of the blue stock.

One can observe several changes in the social media when new memes arrive and which do not have time delays to get floated to one sphere to another sphere. Recently, 10 Year Challenge came into the realm of affairs and which has brought different users to get attracted and made them flow with the trend.

What is #10YearsChallenge?
Believe me, it's not a definition which I am going to provide here. It calls for posting two photos of yourself side by side - one from today and one from a decade ago - to show how you have changed. And yes, it gained widespread traction on social media. It was all fun and memes when Facebook delegate or user-defined memes come to the market which gets such a huge audience and love from the crowd ( These memes are like glamour achieved by stars which achieve the different feat in today's era day to day). Some took it in different and presented different versions of their surroundings or the periods of life.

Earlier completing the #10YearChallenge, Marvel shared pictures of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, and Agent Coulson.


Myth, Bliss or Curse:

Calling it a myth? Yes, it is not less than social modern superstitions of the world. Recent tweet moved thousands of people to worry: "Are we unknowingly helping giant corporations to improve their algorithms for biometric identification and age of progression?"

Calling it a bliss? Definitely not. It's more than a curse. People who are reacting to this stuff are getting obsessed with their self modes obtained during the period they have started using social media. Telling the world that how you changed matters whom apart from you. Show the improvements in yourself. Build the characters and trait with which people can admire rather than commenting Looking Great, Nyc pic, Looking cute or Wow! SO BEAUTIFUL.

It's not the agony which is calling for such nincompoops. It is a hilarious act committed by people who have forgotten to commit themselves to other activities after coming back from schools, colleges, offices etc and getting busy with selfies.


You want to take 10 Year Challenge then accept the challenge to uplift your family member or the one who is deprived of the amenities or do something for your country or at least be honest in whatever you do.

These activities will make one stand tall and apart from others. One should ponder how all this data could be mined to train facial recognition algorithms on age progression and age recognition.

Facebook announced it was using facial recognition technology in 2010. When people upload photos of their friends, Facebook can use technology to suggest the names of people in the picture. It can also alert users if they are in a photo posted by their friend.

Although they have clearly stated that they don't intend to help strangers identify you, and has repeatedly pointed out that users can disable facial recognition in their personal settings but let's discuss as conclusions some of the instances:

1. Cambridge Analytica was accused of data leakage from Facebook.

2. The Government of France fined Uber 4.6 million for data leakage. 

Also, Facebook has stated that #10yearschallenge was not started by them, it was a user's post which went viral. But, who knows the truth?

No one can imagine how and for what purpose these can be used by crime offenders. One can deliberately claim that we are discussing cons and cons only but yes one should understand, appreciate and accolade the marketing strategy of Social Media to engage their users with such frequency. 


Android vs. iPhone - Which One Is Right For You?

If you are reading this, you must be planning to buy a new smartphone but you are confused between which one to choose. Also, there could be a case of switching from Android to iOS or vice versa. Deciding which one is better is a debatable matter as both have their own user base.

From buying to hyping and amplifying the features of their respective smartphones is a common sight when they are questioned about their price. At that moment one will find oratorical skills somehow from nowhere. Both Google and Apple have been great with their marketing skills to showcase every time they bring new smartphone in the market or precisely in the eyes of the viewers. This is so unique in itself that some of them get attracted to arrive at mobile shops.

If you’re buying a new smartphone today, chances are very good that it will run Google’s Android or Apple’s iOS mobile operating systems. These two platforms accounted for more than 99 percent of all new smartphones shipped in recent years, and that rose to 99.7 percent last year, according to IDC. Microsoft has thrown in the towel with Windows Phone, BlackBerry makes Android devices now, and there are very few other options worth considering.

Only Apple makes iPhones, so it has extremely tight control over how the software and hardware work together. On the other hand, Google offers the Android software to many phone makers, including Samsung, HTC, LG, and Motorola.

OS Updates: To make sure you always have the latest and greatest version of your smartphone operating system, you have to get an iPhone. That's because some Android makers (e.g. Samsung) are slow at updating their phones to the latest version of the Android OS version, and sometimes don't update their phones at all.

Voice Assistant: The next frontier of smartphone features and functionality will be driven by Artificial Intelligence and voice interfaces. On this front, Android has a clear lead. The Google Assistant is far better than Siri.

Battery Life: Early iPhones needed to recharge their batteries every day. More recent models can go days without a charge, though new versions of the operating system tend to cut battery life until they're optimized in later releases. ​The battery situation is more complex with Android, due to the large variety of hardware options. Some Android models have 7-inch screens and other features which burn through much more battery life. But, there is one point to consider that many Andriod phones have fast charger out of the box but for Apple phone like iPhone X that supports fast charging, you need to shred some extra bucks.

User Interface: People love to say Apple products just work. It’s certainly true that the iOS interface is easy to use. But so is the Android interface. Frankly, if you can use one, you won’t have much trouble using the other. The notable point here is Andriod is highly customizable via launchers and icon packs whereas iOS has the same UI throughout its life.

Security: It’s not so much that Android has security problems; it’s that Google is laxer than Apple about what applications it will let into its app store. Malware is found more on Android than iOS. However, for high-end devices, manufacturers keep pushing security updates, but the device list is huge in case of Andriod, so the lowered price phones rarely get even security updates. Apple has the opposite case, all the iPhones are updated at the same time when Apple releases any update which is quite good even if you are owning a two-generation older device.

Ports: All Android devices use standard micro USB or USB Type C port, so there are many gadgets you can connect to your phone. With an iPhone, you need something that will connect with its proprietary Lightning port. Also, Apple has removed 3.5 mm audio jack from latest iPhones lineup but many Android phones still have it.

Apps: Once upon a time, you could argue that there were better apps on one app store than the other. These days, it's pretty much a dead tie. Besides, with 2.8 million apps on the Google Play store and 2.2 million on the Apple, App Store, it's not like you're ever going to run out of apps to play with. however, the look, and feel of apps are better experienced on iPhone because of uniformity that they maintain also the number of adds is less compared to the same version of the app on Andriod.

Camera: Cameras on both Android phones and iPhones are very, very good. This can be a bit subjective, as iPhone captures more real colors whereas Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (for example) captures more vivid and has a better low light photography. If the camera is a point Google’s Pixel devices are better than these two in my opinion.

File Transfer: Android is a clear winner when it comes to file transfer. You can connect to any device to transfer your files and media but in iOS, you need to sync your iPhone with iTunes. When you connect your iPhone with another computer, your files and media will be lost.

Storage: iPhones have limited storage and you cannot expand it but with Andriod, you will never run out of storage space as most Andriod devices support expandable storage via Micro SD card.

Dual SIM: When Reliance JIO was launched, almost every Indian tried to get a SIM and use the free Internet. Andriod users put that SIM card into the second SIM slot but for iPhone users, it was not possible until the iPhone XR, which was launched in 2018 only.

Language Support: Android supports more than 100 languages whereas iOS supports 34 languages.

File Manager: File manager is supported in Android which is not supported in iOS.

Open Source: Kernel, UI, and some standard apps. The iOS kernel is not open source but is based on the open-source Darwin OS.

Photo Backup: If you use the Photos app in Android, then you can automatically back up all your photos and videos. There’s no doubt that Google Photos is the best option because it offers unlimited free storage, provided you don’t mind the 16-megapixel limit for images and the 1080p resolution limit for video. You can back up photos and videos at the original resolution with iCloud or Google Photos, but you only get 5GB of free space with iCloud, compared to 15GB with Google Drive. If you are using a Pixel device you get unlimited google storage to back up your photos and videos.

Rooting, Bootloading: We’ve looked at how to root your Android phone or tablet before. It’s not for everyone, but if you want root access and complete control over your device, then rooting is the way to get it. Rooting gives you access to more apps, the latest OS updates without waiting, new software skins to get the aesthetic you want, the chance to get rid of bloatware from carriers and manufacturers, potential tweaks to boost your device’s speed and battery life, and more.
